What is Glogster?Glogster is a social network that allows users to create free interactive posters. The term 'Glog' derives from the abbreviation of graphical blog. Let's Get Gloging! Create an account 1. Go to http://www.glogster.com/ and set up your account. Click "log in" in the upper right hand corner. 2. Enter a Nickname 3. Enter a e-mail 3. Enter a Password 4. Write down your password and Nickname 5. Once you have registered, you will come to a webpage titled "Your dashboard". This site is where you can control your account for Glogster.
Create a Glog1. Select the "Create a new Glog" button. You will be directed to the creating screen. 2. When you open a new Glog, you will see an example of a Glog (refer to image below). To remove any elements you do not wish to use in your Glog, click on the element and then click on the red trash can. Now you can begin to create your blog.
Editing Toolbar This toolbar is used throughout Glogster, to allow you to control graphics, images, wall design, audio and video. Click onto the 'content' button if application does not appeared on your screen.
Basic Editing Backgrounds1. Select the "wall" option from the tool box to add a background. ( The toolbox may be repositioned on the page as needed by sliding it). 2. Glog wall Tab places the background on the actual blog. Page wall tab changes the colour or pattern of the border outside of the glog wall. Graphics1. Click on the graphics buttons to inlcude decorative graphics provided by Glogster. 2. Select the desired image and click "use it". The "use it" button will add the graphic to your Glog, however you will be able to choose multiple images at a time. Images1. Click on the 'Image' button from the toolbox to upload photos, pictures,videos or sound files. 2. Click the "Upload" button and browse to the files on your network folders. 3. Select the image you want, and click "Open". Your photo will be added to your online Glogster image Library. 4. Select the image, and click "Use It!". You may use it as is, or you may add a frame by clicking the "add a frame" button.
Add a Youtube Clip1. Click the video option from the toolbar. 2. Select 'Link' button, if the video is on the web. 3. A screen will open which will allow you to paste the URL into the blank box. 4.Click 'Add to your files' button and the video will be uploaded.
Add a Video Clip1. Click the video option from the toolbar. 2.Select the 'Upload button' ( the video must be downloaded to your computer for this option). 3. Click the 'Browse' option to find the video on your computer. 4. Click 'Add to your files' button and the video will be uploaded. Edit Text1. Select the 'Text' option from the toolbar. 2. You will now have two option of text, 'Basic' and 'Gallery' Text. 3. Select the desired text box and then press 'Use it'. The text will now appear on your Glog. 4. Click the 'edit' button to type your text. 5. Once you have typed your text, click the 'Ab1' button on the menu to edit colour, text size and font.
Finshing and Previewing your Glog!
1. Click the 'Preview' button on the top right hand side of the page. This allows you to preview your Glog in it's published state. 2. Click ' Save and Send' that is also located on the top right hand side of the screen, to publish and save your work.
